How many affiliate websites can one person reasonably manage?

 

Infinite, but one at a time.

There’s no limit to the number of affiliate sites someone can manage, but successful affiliates find a site where it’s worth it to focus their attention.

Evergreen Sites

The key is to make sure your website are “evergreen” and complete. That means you put up content that applies for years to come, and that people can find useful no matter what.

For example, let’s say you make a 10 article site specifically about how to ride a bike on snow. It’s fairly easy to say you won’t need to keep adding content.

So you make 10 really good articles, add the affiliate links, and move on. You might get periodic notifications about site upgrades and comments, but that should take a negligible amount of time.

Focus

You may find a niche that requires constant development, and because you’re building an audience it is more worth your time to continuously add to that website than it is to move on to a new one.

A new site might not make any money. But if one of your sites has an audience of 10,000 people waiting for more content, you can guarantee you’ll get some return there.

So if an affiliate is running 1,000 sites, short of buying up other people’s portfolios, there is probably something they’re neglecting that is making their sites have a limited success.
